As a Resource Manager, you’ll balance business demand with people development, ensuring projects are staffed effectively, workloads are sustainable, and individuals have the right opportunities to grow and thrive. This is a highly influential role for someone who enjoys solving complex puzzles, building trusted relationships, and making decisions that genuinely matter.

Supporting the Strategy, Communications and Competition practices, you will work closely with the Practice Managers and senior leaders to shape how work and people come together. You’ll act as an objective, trusted advisor, helping the practices make well-judged resourcing decisions today while planning effectively for the future.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Resourcing and scheduling
  • Partnering with the Practice Manager to understand resourcing needs and support effective decision-making
  • Representing the practice in firm-wide scheduling discussions
  • Working closely with Frontier’s central and practice scheduling teams to ensure a smooth, consistent process
  • Matching people to projects based on skills, capacity and development goals
  • Anticipating demand, modelling capacity and planning ahead for future projects
  • Reconciling competing demands and resolving resourcing challenges with clarity and fairness
  • Communicating scheduling decisions clearly and openly with consulting staff
  • Extending resourcing processes to senior grades and supporting the change effectively
  • Monitoring utilisation and capacity metrics to spot trends, risks and opportunities
  • Producing and interpreting management information to inform hiring and resourcing decisions
  • Using insight to encourage positive behaviours around workload, planning and utilisation
  • Reviewing how systems and data support resourcing and recommending improvements
  • Working with practice teams to implement new tools or ways of working
  • Building strong relationships with economists to understand their skills, interests and development goals
  • Using staffing insight to spot early signs of pressure, wellbeing challenges or skills gaps
  • Working closely with the central People Team to ensure timely and appropriate support
  • Supporting onboarding and planning for parental leave and other absences
  • Flagging future resourcing needs with Recruitment and practice leadership
  • Contributing insight to people processes such as BPRs, surveys and career development discussions
