Frontier Economics is an economics consultancy that tackles the big questions facing governments, businesses and society. We help our clients to analyse and understand their markets and to formulate strategies based on sound economics. The methods and models we use are often complex, but our advice is always succinct, clear and honest. The People team is responsible for the design and delivery of the People strategy across Europe. The team incorporates Recruitment and Onboarding, HR Business Partnership and Learning and Development, working in close partnership with the wider Frontier business and stakeholders.
We’re looking for a People Administrator to join our collaborative and friendly People Team. This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll work closely with colleagues across all our European offices, providing day-to-day HR coordination and administrative support, as well as policy and process guidance. As a key point of contact within the team, you’ll help create a positive and consistent employee experience - from coordinating onboarding and welcoming new joiners in person on their first day to supporting employees and managers through key milestones such as probation, secondments, and exits.
You don’t need direct HR experience to succeed in this role, but you do need to be highly organised, confident using Excel, and keen to learn. You may come from another administration or coordination background, and you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in wider People initiatives that support continuous improvement and our people strategy.
What You’ll Do
- HR and Information Systems: Act as a Workday super-user, supporting colleagues to use the system effectively and maintaining high data standards. Conduct basic HR data analysis (e.g. turnover, headcount, key metrics) and present insights clearly for stakeholders. Support continuous improvement of systems and reporting processes to enhance data quality and accessibility.
- Employee Lifecycle: Deliver a seamless onboarding and induction experience for all new joiners, from offers to first day logistics. Provide in-person welcome on new joiners’ first day, ensuring they feel supported and have what they need for a successful start. Ensure all HR administration (e.g. contract amendments, letters) is accurate and completed on time. Support delivery of core People processes, helping ensure they are well-managed and deliver a great experience for staff. Coordinate the probation process, ensuring timely communication, documentation, and outcomes. Support the staff survey administration, including sending communications, tracking participation, and helping collate and share results. Coordinate employee exits, overseeing leaver communications, exit interviews, and feedback collection. Support People Advisor with visas and right-to-work checks, coordinating documentation and timelines. Support People Advisor with secondments process, ensuring clear communication and documentation.
- HR Advice And Guidance: Provide day-to-day HR support on Frontier’s policies and processes across all offices. Draft clear and engaging HR communications, including employee guidance and policy updates, ensuring information is accurate and accessible. Support consistent application of policies, escalating more complex queries to People Advisor where needed. Support delivery of key People processes effectively, ensuring communication is clear, responsive, and employee-focused.
What Success Looks Like
- Consistently meeting team Service Level Agreements – delivering a timely, high quality and professional set of services.
- You’ve built trusted relationships across the firm and are recognised as approachable, proactive, and supportive.
- You receive positive feedback on your responsiveness, professionalism, and people-centred approach.
- You support People processes effectively — they run smoothly, are well-organised, and deliver consistent, positive outcomes for staff.
Essential
- Strong digital and analytical skills; highly confident in Excel (essential) including formulas such as VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and IF/IFS (plus other similar functions) and PowerPoint, with the ability to present simple data clearly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adaptable to different audiences and styles.
- Interest in HR and willingness to learn; direct HR experience is not essential and applicants may come from another administration or coordination background.
- Highly organised, able to prioritise effectively and manage a varied workload.
- Strong relationship-building skills; enjoys connecting with people.
- Fluent in English (C2).
Desirable
- Experience as an HR Apprentice, HR Administrator, or similar, or a relevant HR qualification.
- Experience using HR systems, ideally Workday.
- Additional language skills (German, French, or Spanish at C1/C2).
