Frontier is an independent video game developer and publisher, crafting immersive gaming experiences with fun gameplay and unparalleled artistic quality. Renowned for its iconic creative management simulation games, Frontier captivates players worldwide with immersive and authentic game worlds. The modern studio is located in the vibrant technology hub of Cambridge (UK). The talented team at Frontier are dedicated to nurturing our existing portfolio and delivering our exciting future roadmap. This role is offered on a full in-studio basis or a hybrid basis (minimum 3 days per week in the studio). We can provide a comprehensive relocation support package as part of any offer, should you need to relocate.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the design of key UI features and working closely with the UI Lead
- Collaborating with Game Designers to build features from the ground up, such as wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mock-ups
- Creating high-quality features ready to be programmed by developers
- Working alongside the UI team to identify problems and develop smart, user-centred solutions
- Promoting usability and user-centred UI solutions based on UX standards
- Mentoring junior UI designers, offering guidance, feedback and support
Qualifications
- Strong experience with a full game UI pipeline
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality UI features
- Up to date knowledge of design tools, methodologies, and industry trends
- Ability to take a feature from concept to completion
- Deep understanding of how UI fits into the wider game experience
- Experience mentoring junior designers
