The modern studio is located in the vibrant technology hub of Cambridge (UK). This role is offered on a full in-studio basis or a hybrid basis (typically 3 days per week in the studio). We can provide a comprehensive relocation support package as part of any offer, should you need to relocate.
WHAT’S THE ROLE?
We’re looking for an Experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT team, who will play a key role in maintaining high-performance infrastructure across a hybrid on-premises/cloud environment. You’ll collaborate closely with a range of stakeholders and disciplines across Frontier, including security teams and game development teams, contributing to the delivery of secure, scalable IT solutions.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Maintain and support internal IT systems to ensure high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with security teams to deploy and manage secure, compliant infrastructure.
- Monitor and tune systems to proactively address performance and reliability issues.
- Provide third-line support, resolving complex issues from diagnosis to resolution.
- Contribute to IT projects and change processes, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Document procedures and share knowledge across the team.
- Proactively maintain up-to-date knowledge, researching and learning new and existing technologies.
- Participate in out-of-hours support and maintenance when required.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Proven experience in a similar IT infrastructure role managing complex IT infrastructure projects, working in a highly collaborative environment.
- Strong understanding of servers, networking, and system interactions.
- Experience with Windows Server (ADDS, DNS, DHCP, DFS), server virtualisation management, and SANs.
- Skilled in managing network switches, wireless APs, and Office 365 tools (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Intune, Teams).
- Comfortable working in a hybrid on-prem/cloud environment.
- Excellent analytical and prioritisation skills, able to solve problems resourcefully.
BONUS IF YOU HAVE
- Familiarity with ITIL ServiceDesk tools e.g. ServiceNow.
- Scripting experience - PowerShell, Python.
- Knowledge of Linux environments, ideally Ubuntu.
- Experience with containerisation using Docker/ECS/K8s
- Comfortable with the fundamentals of source control systems
