Frontier is an independent video game developer and publisher, crafting immersive gaming experiences with fun gameplay and unparalleled artistic quality. Renowned for its iconic creative management simulation games, Frontier captivates players worldwide with immersive and authentic game worlds. The modern studio is located in the vibrant technology hub of Cambridge (UK). The talented team at Frontier are dedicated to nurturing our existing portfolio and delivering our exciting future roadmap. This role is offered on a full in‑studio basis or a hybrid basis (minimum 3 days per week in the studio). We can provide a comprehensive relocation support package as part of any offer, should you need to relocate.

WHAT’S THE ROLE

We’re looking for an experienced Marketing Artist to join our Design Team on a 9‑month fixed‑term contract, creating high‑impact visuals that showcase Frontier’s games across key art, cinematics, social assets, and in‑game imagery. Combining strong Unreal Engine skills with polished 2D illustration, you’ll produce cinematic, visually striking marketing materials that support brand and campaign goals. Working closely with the wider Creative Services, publishing, and development teams, you’ll help ensure every asset is authentic, consistent, and crafted to the highest standard.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Creating high‑resolution images and short cinematics using in‑game assets while meeting artistic and technical standards.
  • Producing visuals that support brand identity and marketing objectives.
  • Contributing to tasks from key art to trailers to screenshot polish, across multiple game styles and genres.
  • Collaborating with cross‑disciplinary teams to ensure assets reflect each game’s vision and stand out in marketing materials.
  • Streamlining cinematic production and improving Unreal Engine workflows.
  • Troubleshooting and supporting the team to maintain high quality.
  • Participating in ideation sessions and helping develop briefs and sketches.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Strong Unreal Engine skills, capable of building scenes and rendering high quality assets.
  • Strong experience in Photoshop and Unreal Engine, with additional tools (Blender, Substance, Maya, 3ds Max, ZBrush, Marmoset) desirable.
  • A cinematic eye for framing, mood, pacing, and visual impact.
  • Advanced illustration fundamentals, from sketching to polished final images.
  • Strong post‑production skills: retouching, compositing, and refining 3D renders into 2D marketing assets.
  • Ability to interpret feedback and deliver refined, stakeholder‑aligned work.
  • Excellent time management and ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Experience documenting workflows and sharing resources.
