Frontier Consulting are assisting a national Children’s SEN & Residential group to recruit a Group Financial Accountant. This position is hybrid with travel to their head office in Windsor. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our SEN School Group on a hybrid basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organisation’s financial health. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic educational environment while developing your expertise within a supportive team. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with a strong background in financial management and accounting software.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on the annual audit process, acting as a key contact for external auditors
- Prepare and review statutory accounts, including disclosures and supporting documentation
- Ensure strong financial controls, reporting accuracy, and compliance across the group
- Perform month-end balance sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules
- Manage Capex reporting and the Fixed Asset Register
- Support month-end close processes, including journals and head office reporting
- Assist with the annual budgeting process
- Contribute to statutory and regulatory reporting (e.g. ONS submissions)
Requirements:
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong controls mindset
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Confident communicator, able to engage non-finance stakeholders
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g. Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, VLOOKUPs)
- Experience with Sage 200 (or similar) is desirable
- Experience in a multi-site or social care environment is advantageous
