Supporting Disabled Children Service

Up to £60,515 per annum plus a £7,000 welcome bonus & Retention payment of £1,000 will be made every 2 years

Are you a passionate, driven and experienced social work team manager who is looking to expand or develop your experience in practice with children and families with disabilities? As a Team Manager of the Supporting Disabled Children’s Service, you will be working alongside the other teams in the service, our Transitions Team and colleagues in our Preparing for Adulthood Service. You will also work closely with our in-house providers of short breaks, health and education professionals and a range of private and voluntary organisations.

About the role

As a Team Manager in Wandsworth, you will champion anti-racist and anti-oppressive practices, ensuring services are equitable and transformative for children and families of diverse backgrounds. Your role will include allocating work, performance monitoring and supporting the development of the team. You will be able to think on your feet in terms of case allocation and understanding the needs of children and young people.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • You will hold social work qualification with Social Work England membership and have completed your ASYE Year.
  • Leadership and management experience.
  • Proven experience of working across voluntary and statutory agencies with applied knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance.
  • You will be a passionate and driven social worker who is looking to develop further your management experience in practice with disabled children and their families.
  • You will be innovative and creative in your approach to delivering services to disabled children and families and be able to work closely with your team and manager including multi-agency partners to provide a service that meets each child’s needs.
  • You will have an understanding and commitment to the changes we are implementing in response to 'Keeping Children Safe, Helping Families thrive' and our Outstanding Practice Framework.
