Introduction

This role emphasizes the promotion of flexible work arrangements, allowing for remote work from various locations, including home. The organization provides cutting-edge technology and equipment to support efficient and effective service delivery in a home-based work environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Exciting changes are underway within the Council\’s Educational Psychology service, marked by the recent transition to a unified council structure. While currently a compact team, we are expanding and seeking innovative and solution-oriented psychologists to join us in shaping the future direction of our educational psychology service.

Successful candidates will play a key role in developing a high-performing, customer-focused, and inclusive educational psychology service. We are committed to serving the needs of vulnerable children, young people, and families in the picturesque North Yorkshire, known for its outstanding natural beauty and stunning coastlines.

We are currently seeking experienced educational psychologists, offering opportunities to develop specialized responsibilities and interests, along with flexibility in post locations. As part of our small central Educational Psychology team, you will collaborate within a multi-agency team, contributing to positive outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The role involves working closely with inclusive, additionally resourced settings within mainstream schools, known as Targeted Mainstream Provision (TMPs). Support will be mainly systemic, complemented by casework, and there are opportunities to engage therapeutically within TMP provisions and a PRS setting. Educational psychologists within the team have received training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approaches, with consideration for additional training in therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Expectations include engagement in statutory work and participation in hub area projects over time, contributing to informed practice and strategy across SEND.

Desired Experience & Qualification

To succeed, candidates must hold a master\’s or doctorate level qualification in Educational Psychology, be registered with the HCPC, and demonstrate varied and relevant experience with children, young people, and families.

Package & Remuneration

Salary up to £55,921

We offer a relocation package of £8000 to assist with registering for HCPC (should you be successful with your interview) as well as the relocation itself.
