We are looking for a Seed & Environmental Specialist to join the Frontier team, based at our Perth office but covering all of Scotland, on a permanent, full-time basis. You will support our farm-gate sales team with both commercial and technical expertise, to drive delivery of the seeds portfolio and budget in Scotland.

About You

  • Experience and understanding of the agricultural sector is essential
  • Specific experience of selling or advising on combinable seeds (barley, wheat, oats, rye, OSR)
  • Experience of environmental seeds (conservation, green cover, game cover and forage crops) is desirable but not essential
  • Strong commercial acumen and awareness
  • Ability to build outstanding professional relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • A high level of initiative with strong planning and organisational skills
  • The personal ambition, tenacity, and resilience to succeed in a sales and advisory role
  • Flexible approach to work and managing changing priorities whilst still providing a responsive customer focussed service

Your Role

As a Seed Specialist your role will involve:

  • Supporting the farm trading and agronomy teams with the sale of seed via dual calls, technical and commercial advice, and farm-gate prospecting
  • Regularly attending our main trading offices for Scotland, located at Berwick-upon-Tweed, Perth, Newmachar, and Invergordon
  • Supporting the seed operations and administration teams with pricing, planning of delivery, and communication of seed availability
  • Developing and implementing a strategy to grow our market share of Scottish seed sales alongside the wider UK seed team and Scottish Seed Manager
  • Building strong collaborative relationships with the sales team and sales leaders and developing commercial understanding alongside technical knowledge
  • Having presence at local events and providing knowledge and advice to customers via our in-field demonstration days
  • Using data and insight to identify sales opportunities, commercial gaps, and emerging market in co-ordination with sales leaders and the Scottish Seed Manager
