My client is an award winning pension consultancy with an opportunity for an experienced technical pensions professional to join a specialist team focused on pensions legislation, regulation and best‑practice governance across private and public sector schemes. This role suits someone who enjoys analysing legislative change, shaping compliant processes, and acting as a trusted technical point of contact within a pensions administration or advisory environment.
The Role
You’ll sit within a central technical function, supporting administration teams and stakeholders by interpreting pensions legislation and ensuring services remain compliant, high‑quality and forward‑looking.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring, analysing and reviewing legislative and regulatory developments affecting occupational pension schemes
- Preparing legislative and regulatory update reports (e.g. changes of law, consultations, Budget updates)
- Acting as a first‑line technical and legislative contact for pensions administration teams
- Conducting detailed research using primary legislative sources and legal databases
- Reviewing consultations and supporting the preparation of consultation responses
- Preparing and delivering regulatory briefings and technical updates to a range of audiences
- Engaging with external pensions forums and industry bodies
- Supporting continuous improvement of pensions processes, compliance and technical standards
About You
- Direct and relevant experience within the pensions industry with a good understanding of DB and DC pensions
- Strong understanding of pensions legislation and regulatory frameworks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly
- Strong analytical and legal reasoning skills
- Confident engaging with multiple stakeholders, from administrators to senior clients
- Well organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple priorities
- Collaborative, enthusiastic and solutions‑focused mindset
