£32,000-£40,000 depending on experience, plus £3-5,000 per year performance-related bonus.

Interview Process

The interview process is (1) telephone screen to establish a fit on both sides, (2) written task, (3) second round interview, (4) final questions, potentially leading to an offer. The interview process should take no longer than two weeks.

Role Summary

We are seeking a talented, friendly and ambitious events marketing professional to join our friendly team for the long term. You are likely either in an events marketing manager role or looking to make the step up from your current position as an events marketing assistant/executive. The successful candidate will work on two of the most exciting, innovative large-scale life sciences events in the world (including the UK’s largest life sciences event), as well as some smaller, senior-level meetups and digital products. Your principal focus will be on events. As we are a small team, this role suits someone with a ‘can do’ attitude, who is willing to contribute to a range of marketing tasks, including sourcing and managing data, writing and editing copy, creating and populating design assets, creating and sending emails, and working cross-functionally with our science writing, production and sales teams. You will also contribute towards the shaping and execution of our marketing strategy and marketing plans. Location

This is a remote role, although you must be able to travel to London for one day per month, and travel to our two large events (London and Boston). You must be based in the UK, with a legal right to work in the UK.

We run the Festival(s) of Genomics & Biodata in London and Boston (the London event is the UK’s largest life sciences event), several senior-level meetups, webinars and reports. We also produce articles, interviews and other content for our audience, housed on our website.

We help people working in healthcare organisations (such as the NHS), academia/research, pharma/biotech and others to make better use of genomics, omics, biodata, AI and other related technologies. We also support technology companies, investors, government officials and patient organisations.

The Role

  • Execute against marketing strategies and plans.
  • Input into the marketing strategy, help build and execute marketing plans for the Festivals, meetups, reports, webinars and related products.
  • Research and manage data.
  • Create and populate design assets.
  • Copywriting, editing and proofing.
  • Leverage powerful marketing software.
  • Manage social media accounts.
  • Manage paid campaigns and PPC across LinkedIn and Google Ads.
  • Marketing analytics.
  • Build and nurture external relationships.
  • Event websites.
  • Secure attendees for senior meetups.
  • Support events.
  • All-hands-on-deck.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 18 months of event marketing experience within B2B events for a B2B events organiser.
  • Experience of working on life sciences events is a plus.
  • Digital marketing experience is also a plus.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good writing skills and a strong attention to detail when proofing and editing.
  • Works effortlessly with people at every level of an organisation.
  • A self-starter and ‘doer’ who gets things done effectively and efficiently.
  • Loves working as part of a close-knit team.
  • Ability to prioritise, hit deadlines and possess strong organisational skills.

Other Information

  • A total of 33-34 days per year, including 25 days of bookable annual leave, plus 8 public holidays, plus your birthday (upon completion of your probationary period).
  • Contributory group pension scheme upon three months of employment.
  • You will work remotely, with just 1 day per month in London.
  • Event travel required: To both London and Boston Festivals.
  • Flexible working: Our core hours are 9.00am to 5.30pm, but you can adjust your working hours to suit your personal preference/schedule, where possible.
