Role: Production Engineer
Location: Leeming Bar, Northallerton, North Yorkshire
This really is an exceptional opportunity for a fully trained Production Engineer with relevant hands on electrical and mechanical experience to join an outstanding and growing organization within the food industry.
Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor you will be involved in Planned and unplanned maintenance and break down, maintain kit, and systems, to ensure that we achieve our production targets, aiming zero target engineering down time throughout the plants.
Also ensuring that equipment is available for production, required an energy and urgency at all times to fix the breakdown asap. Developing a clear knowledge and understanding of the factory, machinery and their use.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out fault finding diagnosis and repairs on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment. Electronics repair will be an advantage
- required to attend and carry tasks on planned and unplanned maintenance of our high-speed production machinery such as servo-controlled P&P systems, filling machines, flow wrappers, check weighers, shrink and stretch wrappers etc.
- This is a hands‑on role, to carry mechanical, electrical and pneumatic/hydraulic tasks with sense of urgency.
- Ensure smooth running of the factory machinery.
- Ensure break downs are attended at a speedy response.
- To orientate your hand on engineering skills drive to ensure that the products produced meet customer specification, quality, and food safety.
- To be proactive in looking for areas of engineering improvement and to adopt techniques and practices that ensure that there is a quality environment in production
Qualifications
- Time served hands on engineering experience ideally from within the Food, Dairy or Beverage manufacturing industry.
- Flexible and Open to change and will always look for better, simpler, and more effective ways of maintain the machines under controlled speed and pressure
- Communicate with the production at all time in the breakdown situation and decision making for requesting help to get the lines up and running as fast as can be
- Understand all tasks, processes, and activities as an expert in Ice cream to Achieve good maintenance
- Commitment and enthusiasm to working together to achieve better outcomes, with a sense of customer service towards the factory
