Since its launch in 2017, FromCounsel has developed a reputation for offering an unmatched legal knowledge service to corporate lawyers. Our aim is to make our legal content more comprehensive, more insightful and more accessible than anything else available in the market.

With over 85% of the top 100 corporate law firms among our clients, FromCounsel is expanding into new areas of law. Following the successful launch of our Restructuring & Insolvency service, we are now developing a new Pension and Trusts service . We will shortly be announcing a partnership with a leading pension and trusts chambers, and work is already underway on scoping and developing the service.

The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to join a fast-growing digital business in a senior leadership role. You will play a central part in creating, launching and growing FromCounsel Pension and Trusts , working closely with expert barristers from leading chambers, experienced in-house knowledge lawyers and our legal editorial team.

Job Description

You will be responsible for leading the Pension and Trusts Team and managing the Pension and Trusts Knowledge Service , while writing, reviewing, editing and maintaining first-class legal content.

The role is varied and offers significant scope and autonomy, with opportunities to contribute to the development of the service, its interaction with other content streams, and future product development.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading the development of FromCounsel Pension and Trusts .
• Managing the scoping, writing, review, editing and maintenance of high-quality content, consistently applying FromCounsel’s unique approach and style.
• Coordinating close collaboration with barristers, external experts and specialist contributors.
• Supporting customer engagement and assessing customer needs and market requirements.
• Managing and supporting team members, including recruitment, training and professional development.
• Liaising with other Team Heads on the development of cross-practice content and the review and testing of content in new products.
• Working with senior management on project plans, timescales, targets, schedules and reporting.
• Liaising with our Development Team on technical solutions and enhancements to support the service.

Key Requirements

Candidates must have at least six years’ PQE together with strong technical knowledge and broad experience of UK pensions and trusts law, whether at the Bar or within a law firm.

A demonstrable aptitude for writing high-quality legal copy in an engaging and accessible way, together with a genuine interest in communicating legal developments to others, is essential. Candidates should be focused, efficient and confident working on their own initiative to deadlines. At the same time, they should enjoy collaborating with knowledge lawyers and barristers to ensure content consistently meets FromCounsel’s premium standards.

Salary is dependent on experience.
