An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Tuberculosis (TB) Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our dedicated TB service based at Frimley Park Hospital. This is a full‑time, permanent position within a supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care.
Responsibilities
- Care for patients with suspected or diagnosed TB, supported by the TB team.
- Take responsibility for managing TB contact screening and migrant screening for both adults and children (performing Mantoux, QuantiFeron blood test and CXR) and BCG vaccination.
- Monitoring active/latent TB treatment for both adults and children.
- Make differential diagnosis within level of competence, supported by the TB team.
- Plan and provide treatment in collaboration with others as appropriate, to include monitoring of treatment as well as managing Directly Observed Therapy regimens.
- Work independently, but also as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Use clinical judgement to decide whether to refer patients for investigations such as a chest X‑ray.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Registered Clinical Nurse with experience in TB or infectious disease care.
- Excellent communication, organisational and clinical skills.
- Motivated, compassionate, proactive and able to work independently and as part of a wider team.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car (essential for community visits and outreach clinics).
- Passion for improving patient outcomes and commitment to excellence.
