Overview

We are recruiting for Staff Nurses to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of Doctors, Nurses, Emergency Care Assistants and Admin Staff and be responsible for the assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating of nursing care within the department.

You will be responsible for supporting and supervising junior members of staff and students on the ward. You will be required to work as part of a team and also have the clinical skills and knowledge to work independently when required using safe and effective judgement skills.

Main duties of the job

Provide clinical leadership for the assessment of patient needs, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, which are evidence based, utilising all available resources taking into consideration the lifestyle, gender and cultural background and ensure involvement with the patient, carers, and significant others.

  • Provide clinical care to patients undergoing assessment and treatment
  • Maintain records in line with NMC guidelines for records and record keeping
  • Practice within the Legal & Ethical framework as established by Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) and national & local legislation to ensure patients interest and well being are met
  • Empower patients to take responsibility for their health, well-being and future lifestyle by practising in an open, transparent and inclusive manner thereby ensuring patients have the relevant information to participate in decisions about their care
  • Promote and support innovation in clinical practice
  • Undertake education and training specific to the clinical area
  • Demonstrate own professional development
  • Support the Senior Charge Nurse in the effective management of resources including stores, supplies, pharmacy and maintenance of equipment
