We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and experienced pharmacist to join the dynamic pharmacy team at Wexham Park Hospital. This specialist rotational clinical pharmacist role provides exposure to a wide range of clinical specialties and the opportunity to progress to advanced-level or specialist roles within an innovative hospital environment.

Responsibilities

  • Place the patient at the centre of all decisions and actions.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, clinical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Be organised, proactive, and adaptable, managing changing priorities and contributing positively to service development.
  • Provide high‑quality clinical pharmacy services across a range of wards and specialist areas, ensuring safe, effective, evidence‑based use of medicines.
  • Support medicines optimisation and patient‑safety initiatives, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Act as a role model for clinical excellence, demonstrating advanced knowledge, sound professional judgement, and a commitment to service improvement.
  • Contribute to education and training – supervising trainee pharmacists, junior pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in service development, clinical audit, and research activities to improve the quality and efficiency of pharmacy services.
  • Provide support to dispensary services (inpatient and outpatient) as required (clinical screening, accuracy checking, patient counselling).
  • Undertake duties as part of the late, weekend, and bank‑holiday rotas, and contribute to the on‑call service in line with departmental requirements.
  • Collaborate across sites, including Heatherwood Hospital, to support the delivery of consistent and integrated pharmacy services throughout the Trust.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a pharmacist (or about to become).
  • Experience in primary‑care pharmacy or junior hospital pharmacy, with an appetite to broaden clinical experience and take on specialist rotations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Enthusiastic, motivated, and driven to develop both clinically and professionally.
  • Willingness to travel within the Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, including to Heatherwood Hospital.

Working Conditions

This is a part‑time position. The postholder will participate in evening, weekend, and bank‑holiday duties as part of the departmental rota. The role may require travel to other sites within the Trust.
