This is an exciting time to join our team. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Mental Health Nurse to support our clinical teams within the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) at Wexham Park Hospital. In this role, you will provide specialist mental health input to patients within the AMU and wider clinical areas. You will play a vital part in promoting parity of esteem between mental and physical health, offering expert advice, support, and information to patients experiencing acute mental health needs.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong nursing and risk‑assessment skills, with a comprehensive understanding of the legal frameworks that guide acute mental health care. A solid knowledge of mental health diagnoses and evidence‑based psychosocial interventions is essential.

Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist mental health input to patients within the AMU and wider clinical areas.
- Promote parity of esteem between mental and physical health, offering expert advice, support, and information to patients experiencing acute mental health needs.
- Deliver high‑quality, effective, and individualised nursing care that is compassionate, caring, and aligned with evidence‑based professional practice.
- Assess care needs and develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans without supervision.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients.
- Collaborate across the multi‑disciplinary team to ensure consistent and personalised care.
- Contribute to the daily activities and treatment programmes.
- Undertake mental health risk assessments and reduce vulnerable patients coming to harm.
- Provide clinical areas with mental health advice, support, and expertise.
