Frimley Health Foundation Trust has an exciting vacancy for a Band 6 Senior Oncology & Outpatient Dietitian for 36 hours per week fixed term until September 2026.
The postholder will work within the speciality of oncology, providing dietetic advice for patients with cancer on the Chemotherapy Unit, inpatient wards and telephone reviews, as well as general outpatient clinics. This role will involve some face-to-face clinics but opportunities to work remotely will likely be available.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills and knowledge within this specialism. The successful applicant will develop strong links with multiple oncology multi-disciplinary teams and the wider dietetics team across Frimley Health Foundation Trust. They will also be encouraged and supported to work on audit and quality improvement projects relating to their role to promote service development.
Our department is a well-established team with dietitians working across many specialities. Main duties of the job
- Clinical oncology speciality within in and outpatient settings such as; haematology ward, chemotherapy unit, consultant led clinics, telephone clinics.
- Be responsible for providing specialist dietetic advice for patients with complex clinical conditions within tumour groups, such as; breast as well as gynaecology, lung, colorectal, haematology, renal and some upper gastro-intestinal cancers.
- Lead on patient related activity on haematology ward, cancer education and training
- Clinical skills in management of cancer and treatment related symptoms including oral and enteral feeding methods, and discharge processes.
- Co-ordinating discharges for oncology patients requiring home enteral nutrition
- Attendance at Lung MDT meetings
- Establishing the role of the Dietitian as a core member of cancer teams and be the expert resource within the multi-disciplinary team
- Attendance and contribution to oncology related meetings; cross-site oncology dietitians, CNS, AHP and Navigator meetings
- Development and provision of resources used within oncology speciality
