Overview

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Berkshire and Surrey Pathology Services (BSPS) as a Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) at Frimley Park Hospital. The Blood Sciences department has recently undergone a full laboratory refresh, providing a modern and dynamic working environment equipped with state-of-the-art technology. This role is based within the Blood Sciences team, which encompasses Biochemistry, Haematology and Blood Transfusion. As an MLA, you will support the smooth running of the department and help ensure timely and accurate processing of samples to support patient care.

The main duties of the MLAs include but are not limited to:

  • Loading and unloading patient samples onto laboratory analysers
  • Routine analyser maintenance to ensure accurate performance
  • Performing manual assay analysis as required
  • Monitoring and maintaining stock levels
  • Carrying out a range of general laboratory duties to support the smooth running of the service
