The Work: As an apprentice, you will undergo comprehensive training to master all aspects of the butchery role within a high performing production environment. You will work alongside experienced operators to deliver daily performance targets while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
- Master the Craft: Train in all aspects of butchery, including deboning, rind removal, and trimming pork legs to standard specifications on a pace line.
- Operational Excellence: Support the delivery of daily production targets through strong teamwork and collaboration with fellow line operators.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to food hygiene, health and safety regulations, and general manufacturing practices to ensure a safe, clean working environment.
- Continuous Learning: Engage in both practical line-based training and classroom work, taking personal responsibility for your development and following instructions from butchery trainers.
The Requirements: We are looking for dedicated individuals ready to learn a specialized trade. While previous experience is beneficial, a commitment to safety and a willingness to work in a fast-paced, physical environment are essential.
- Experience: Previous experience in a production line or teamwork-oriented environment is beneficial, though full training is provided for this apprenticeship.
- Hard Skills: You must possess English language skills (ESOL Level 2) and will develop expert knife skills, knife safety protocols, and a deep understanding of health and safety standards.
