Frigate is a London‑based consumer fintech on a mission to change how people behave with money – not just track it.
We combine open banking, AI, gamification, and Duolingo‑style education to help users build healthier financial habits.
We're live with early adopters, backed by a 3,000+ waitlist, and recently received our FCA agent licence.
We're a small, lean, and fast‑moving team. You'll be working directly with our CTO and the founding team – not as a spectator, but as a builder.
We're looking for a self‑sufficient, curious, and logically minded individual to join us as a Software Engineering Intern.
You'll be involved in real development work: from fixing bugs to building features, contributing to our mobile app, and helping shape the technical foundation of Frigate.
We're open to vibe coders, but you must have a solid grasp of software logic, mobile development principles, and the ability to work independently.
This isn't a role for someone who needs hand holding.
It's for someone who can take a problem, break it down, and build a solution with minimal supervision.
What you'll do
- Contribute to our mobile app development (React Native / i OS / Android)
- Help debug, test, and improve app performance
- Work with our CTO on feature development and technical planning
- Document your work and contribute to our internal technical knowledge base
What we're looking for
- Strong understanding of software engineering logic and architecture
- Experience or strong interest in mobile app development
- Ability to work autonomously, we care about outcomes, not hours
- A hacker mindset, you like to build things and figure out how stuff works
- What you'll get
- Direct mentorship from a CTO with fintech and enterprise software experience
- Real, hands‑on experience building a live consumer fintech product
- A portfolio building opportunity with tangible impact
- Flexible, remote‑first working environment
- A reference and strong recommendation upon successful completion
