The Production team is responsible for delivering all physical elements of the fairs and ensuring their safe, timely, and successful delivery. This operational team is based in London and consists of two distinct subsets, each with a Head of Department: Exhibitor Production – focuses on all production elements related to the Exhibitors at the fairs, including booth builds, complex artwork installation, technical support, drafting, floor planning, art shipping logistics, Frieze Sculpture management, production schedules (venue builds), and Health & Safety. Fair Production – encompasses all other areas of the fair, including tent builds and related infrastructure, F&B, contract management, Partnership lounge support/production, non-gallery builds, fair design, site infrastructure, security, cleaning, contractor management, production schedules (tent builds), and Health & Safety. Each fair has a Production Manager, based in London, who is responsible for all the Fair Production elements and coordinating with various departments across Frieze. Usually, a Production Manager works on one UK and one US show (being opposite times of the year). The Exhibitor Production Department works across all fairs but is more heavily involved in the US fairs where we don’t have a single stand-building vendor. In the UK and Korea, we use one stand-building vendor for each show. For the US, the internal team acts as the stand-build vendor, and exhibitors order their additional walls, lights, etc., from Frieze rather than an external party. Who You Are The Partnerships Production Manager will support the Head of Fair Production in all event production management, with specific responsibility for the coordination, management, and implementation of all aspects of the production of Frieze Sponsors’ activations at all Frieze Fairs. This role involves working closely with Sponsors, contractors, third-party companies, and internal departments in a project management capacity, coordinating everything involved in building and delivering successful activations for our Partners. Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To: Assist the Head of Fair Production in all production-related activities on the Fairs, as required. Coordinate all logistics relating to Sponsor activations at the Fairs (not including in-kind deliveries). Travel overseas when required for Fairs or events. Develop clear briefs from Sponsors for designers and suppliers. Liaise with Partnerships regarding new proposals and existing contracts. Collate information and hospitality packages, in close consultation with the Head of Fair Production, for Partnerships teams to sell to sponsors as required. Update, manage, and distribute Sponsor Online Manuals. Manage all deadlines for Sponsor timelines. Manage production schedules as required. Research and utilize new suppliers for building sponsor spaces. Ensure sensitivity to existing Production relationships and schedules. Liaise with all fair departments as required, managing to deadlines. Ensure H&S, CDM, and fire regulations are correctly adhered to. Manage front of house, security, etc., smoothly as related to any lounge activations and events (on-site). Act as the production ‘point of contact’ for all sponsors with a lounge activation at any fair. Provide efficient and effective troubleshooting during the event. Present an evaluation/debrief report to the Senior Production Manager post-fair. Balance the creative and artistic requirements of the fair with the commercial realities of delivering the activations on time, within budget, and ‘on brand’. You Will Have The Following Strengths: Strong managerial experience is a must. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Able to work well in a team, as well as autonomously. Knowledge of UK Health & Safety Regulations. Experience working in the USA. Health & Safety qualification in the UK and/or US. Knowledge of exhibition/experiential production (outside of the art world). Experience in managing budgets. Clean Driving License. Experience working with temporary structures. Some knowledge of working with CAD. Knowledge of best working practices in the US and UK. Health & Safety qualification (IOSH or above). We’d Love If You Also Have These: Strong communication and negotiation skills. Innate high standards and concern for a high level of quality. Excellent problem solver and multi-tasker. Ability to calmly work under pressure. Adaptable with excellent attention to detail. Able to deal with a broad range of people at every level. Self-motivated and able to take responsibility.
