Job Title: Media Sales Manager
Frieze is the world’s leading platform for modern and contemporary art, dedicated to artists, galleries, collectors, and art lovers. We operate three magazines – frieze, Frieze Masters Magazine , and Frieze Week – and organize seven international art fairs, including Frieze London, Frieze Masters, Frieze New York, Frieze Los Angeles, Frieze Seoul, The Armory Show, and EXPO Chicago. In September 2023, we acquired the legacy art fair brands The Armory Show and EXPO Chicago. Additionally, in October 2021, we launched No.9 Cork Street, a permanent space for international galleries in Mayfair, London.
We are seeking an experienced Media Sales Manager to co-lead advertising sales efforts across the US and APAC regions for frieze magazine, Frieze Week, and our digital platforms (frieze.com, newsletter, social media).
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Co-lead advertising sales initiatives in the US and APAC for frieze magazine, Frieze Week, and digital offerings.
- Identify new market opportunities and potential advertisers.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective clients.
- Act as the primary contact for clients, ensuring effective communication.
- Provide creative advertising solutions to meet client needs.
- Represent frieze at gallery dinners and openings regularly.
- Collaborate with the Head of Media Sales Americas and Asia Pacific on strategic growth plans for advertising revenue.
- Maintain and update the customer database to expand frieze’s network.
- Prepare sales reports and forecasts for management review.
- Monitor advertising revenue and sales performance against targets.
Additional Notes
- International travel to attend art events across the USA and APAC.
- Flexibility and willingness to work longer hours may be required.

- Generating revenue from advertising across frieze, Frieze Week, and digital platforms.
Knowledge and Experience
Mandatory:
- Deep understanding of the contemporary art industry and its stakeholders.
- At least 5 years of sales experience in advertising (print and digital).
- Proven success in driving advertising sales, especially with arts and luxury brands.
- Established network of senior decision-makers among advertisers, particularly new clients for frieze.
- In-depth knowledge of digital advertising formats and experience in growing digital ad revenue.
- Track record of meeting sales targets and revenue growth.
- Strong client-facing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple activities and prioritize effectively.
- Capacity to work under pressure with high attention to detail.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Google Analytics and Adobe products.
- Additional language skills are a plus.
