Friends of the Elderly (FotE) is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to providing excellent care with a family feel, we have been supporting older people for over 100 years. The charity provides care home and day care services for older people, as well as grants for older people in financial difficulty.
Redcot, specialising in residential care, is set in the delightful town ofHaslemere, Surrey. Overlooking beautiful gardens and surrounded by countryside, much of which is owned by the National Trust,Redcotis blessed with a unique, tranquil setting.
Joining our dedicated team as a Shift Leader, you willbe responsible fordelivering person-centred care, unique toeach individual, supporting and enabling our residents tomaintainkey skills, personal interests, independence, choice, and dignity, so that they can lead fulfilled lives

You will make sure our residents are safe and comfortable.

You will act as a champion for their safety and dignity.

You will lead the team in providing quality, individualised care for our residents in line with procedures and policies.

You will make sure that clear,accuraterecords are kept.

You will follow our procedures for ordering, administering and dispensing medication.

You will conduct supervisions and appraisals with the staff and promote their development

To ensure we can achieve this, our shift patterns include evenings, weekends, and some unsociable hours.
To succeed in this role, you will needgreat communicationand interpersonal skills, so that you can form great relationships with your residents and effectively handover information to colleagues. Number and digital skills are alsorequiredalong with the ability to problem solve and adapt to situations, and to recognise and report situations where there might be a need for safeguarding.
Working as a Shift Leader means no two days are the same.
You will have at least 2 years experience in a care setting, ideally in a senior position, and will be comfortable administering medication. With a compassionate nature and a positive can-do attitude, you will be able to supervise your peers and take the initiative. An NVQ Level 3 in health and social care and leadership training is desirable but by no means essential.
