If you're an experienced warehouse operative ready to step up, or a team leader looking for a role where your organisation and hands-on approach genuinely keeps operations moving, this is a hands-on opportunity to lead from the front. We need a Branch Fulfilment Team Leader to lead our internal shopper team at our main distribution warehouse in Cannock, keeping depot replenishment and branch orders flowing accurately and on time.
What you'll be doing
- You'll lead the internal shopper team at our main distribution warehouse, coordinating daily picking activity to replenish stock across our depot and branch network
- Monitor picking progress throughout the day and adjust priorities to hit dispatch deadlines
- Promote accurate picking, checking stock codes, quantities and destinations against transfer and order requirements
- Ensure picked stock is clearly identified, packed correctly and placed in the right dispatch area
- Investigate discrepancies and stock shortages, escalating issues promptly and communicating any impact
- Coordinate with stock control, dispatch and transport colleagues to keep goods moving smoothly
- Coach team members, explain procedures and support new starters in building consistent picking practices
- Get hands-on with picking and goods out tasks when needed
- Maintain safe working practices and good housekeeping across picking and dispatch areas
- Spot practical improvements that reduce errors, cut delays and sharpen day-to-day organisation
What we're looking for
- Experience in warehouse picking, goods out or a similar distribution environment
- The ability to lead by example, give clear direction and support a busy team
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to balance replenishment transfers, branch orders and dispatch deadlines
- Good attention to detail and a focus on stock accuracy and careful handling
- Clear communication skills and a practical approach to resolving day-to-day issues
- Confidence using stock systems and handheld picking equipment, with a willingness to learn our processes
- A commitment to safe working, teamwork and reliable service to our depot and branch network
- A current forklift truck certificate is preferred. Training can be provided if you fulfil the other criteria of the role
Previous team leader or supervisory experience is an advantage. We also welcome applications from experienced warehouse colleagues who are ready to take the next step into a leadership role.
