Are you an experienced Operations Manager with a background in manufacturing or engineering environments? Do you enjoy leading day-to-day operations while remaining hands-on within production, assembly, and workshop activities?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company where you will play a key role in overseeing manufacturing operations, production workflows, assembly activities, and operational performance across the business.

This role would suit someone coming from a precision engineering, manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, or mechanical production background rather than purely logistics or distribution operations.

The successful Operations Manager will be responsible for managing operational workflows across production and assembly, supporting manufacturing performance, coordinating materials and supply chain activities, and ensuring customer orders are delivered efficiently and on time.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day manufacturing and operational activities
  • Oversee assembly and production workflows within the workshop environment
  • Support hands-on assembly or operational tasks when required
  • Coordinate materials, purchasing, and production scheduling activities
  • Ensure customer orders are manufactured and delivered on time
  • Monitor production performance and implement process improvements
  • Lead and support operational and production staff
  • Maintain health & safety and operational standards across the site
  • Work closely with sales, purchasing, customer service, and senior leadership teams

The Person

  • Previous experience as an Operations Manager, Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, or similar operational leadership role
  • Strong background within manufacturing, engineering, assembly, or production environments
  • Mechanical or engineering understanding would be highly advantageous
  • Experience overseeing production, assembly, workshop, or manufacturing operations
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable remaining hands-on and supporting operational activities when required
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities
  • Experience using ERP, MRP, or stock management systems would be advantageous
