THOMAS Professional are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior CNC Machinist to join a well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Stroud, working on a Double Day Shift pattern.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business offering long-term stability, modern CNC machinery, regular overtime, and the opportunity to play a key role within an experienced manufacturing team.
Role Responsibilities
As a Senior CNC Machinist, your responsibilities will include:
- Setting and operating CNC machining centres to produce high-precision components
- Optimising machining processes to maximise efficiency and quality
- Making programme offsets and tooling adjustments where required
- Reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspection checks
- Troubleshooting machining issues and supporting continuous improvement activities
- Supporting and mentoring junior machinists when required
- Maintaining high standards of quality, housekeeping and health & safety
- Working closely with Team Leaders, Production and Quality teams to achieve production targets
The Person
The successful Senior CNC Machinist will ideally have:
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist within a precision engineering environment
- Strong CNC setting and operating experience
- Excellent understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerances
- Experience carrying out quality inspections using measuring equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and support less experienced team members
- A proactive approach with a commitment to continuous improvement
- Up to £43,000 salary
