The Role
We are looking for an experienced
CNC Lathe Setter/Operator to join our busy manufacturing team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating CNC lathes to produce precision-engineered components to drawing specifications, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC lathes to manufacture precision components.
- Load and prove out programs where required.
- Select and install tooling, fixtures and workholding equipment.
- Produce first-off components and carry out in-process inspections.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Use measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and gauges.
- Maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish to customer requirements.
- Monitor machine performance and make offset adjustments where necessary.
- Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
- Carry out routine machine maintenance and housekeeping.
- Follow all health, safety and quality procedures.
- Work effectively as part of the production team to meet delivery targets.
- Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience setting and operating CNC lathes within a precision engineering environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Competent in using precision measuring equipment.
- Good understanding of machining principles and tolerances.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable with a positive, flexible attitude.
- Experience with Fanuc, Siemens or Haas controls.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement.
- Experience machining a range of materials including steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
