Registered Physical Health Nurse to join a purpose a0built low secure service supporting women with complex care needs.

This role is ideal for a nurse who is passionate about delivering high adquality physical healthcare, enjoys multidisciplinary teamwork, and wants to develop professionally within a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate physical healthcare interventions to support optimal patient wellbeing.
  • Facilitate routine and ad hoc physical health tests (e. g., Clozapine/Lithium bloods, asthma and diabetes monitoring) and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Develop, review and maintain physical health care plans with clear, effective interventions.
  • Support ward teams and provide clinical cover when required.
  • Ensure ECGs are completed as prescribed and recorded appropriately.
  • Educate staff on naso d gastric feeding and ensure adherence to dietitiand prescriptions.
  • Attend weekly clinical review meetings to contribute to physical healthcare planning.
  • Chair monthly healthy living groups (topics include smoking cessation, obesity, exercise).
  • Act as the infection control lead, offering guidance and training across clinical and non dclinical areas.
  • Undertake clinical audits and support emergency drills.
  • Deliver workshops and teaching sessions on physical healthcare best practice.
  • Support immunisation programmes (flu vaccines, routine vaccinations).
  • Provide health promotion advice to staff and families.
  • Work collaboratively with professionals and families to encourage positive healthy living.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (NMC) valid registration required.
  • Minimum 2 years post registration experience.
  • Experience in NG feeding and phlebotomy.
  • Experience delivering training to others.
  • Understanding of mental health needs within secure or specialist settings.

The service includes general low secure wards and a recovery area, providing a seamless internal care pathway.
