Silver Arrow require experienced HGV Technicians to work for a truck dealership company based in the Northampton area. There are several positions available here with varying shift patterns & hours.

Your Role:

  • Carry out servicing, inspections, diagnostics and repairs on trucks, trailers and specialist vehicles to DVSA and manufacturer standards.
  • Perform general maintenance: oil changes, tyre rotation, replacing worn components, fluid checks etc.
  • Support the workshop organisation and ensure safe handling of tools and equipment.
  • Carry out major and minor mechanical repairs, from simple parts replacement to complex drive train or engine work.
  • Use diagnostic software and ECU systems to identify faults and carry out accurate repairs.
  • Stay updated on manufacturer technical updates and DVSA standards.
  • Complete all job cards, inspection sheets and repair records in line with DVSA and internal standards.

What we need from you:

  • At least 2 years’ experience as a HGV Technician.
  • NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
  • Comfortable working across a wide range of heavy vehicles including trucks, trailers, plant and agricultural machinery.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with diagnostic and repair experience.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and within a team.
  • Professional, punctual and reliable.
  • Physically capable of tasks requiring stamina and strength.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in work quality.
