We are currently working in partnership with a Manufacturing Business based in Cardiff who are looking to employ a permanent Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer with a solid understanding of both Electrical and Mechanical engineering, to support reactive maintenance, breakdowns and preventive plant maintenance.
Shift Pattern Panama: "2 2 3" shift pattern: for example, 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off and so on. If your shift falls on a bank holiday, you will be given the holiday back to use another day.
You will need to have a full qualification in engineering, either HNC/ HND/ ONC/ NVQ Level 3 OR City & Guilds Level 3. You must be able to read circuit drawings and be able to understand them. You should be able to perform both planned maintenance and repairs to a variety of plant machinery.
Maintenance Engineer Benefits- Salary of up to £55,000 depending on experience, this is inclusive of shift allowance

- Support the engineering team by carrying out systematic tasks and continuous improvements to plant and machinery to improve existing manufacturing processes.
- Reactive maintenance and repair, working to undertake repairs as efficiently as possible in order to minimise downtime (both mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair based on your bias).
- Troubleshooting any issues, fault finding and using diagnostic techniques.
- Performing inspection and servicing of the manufacturing equipment as required.
- Use initiative to identify areas that will improve the production performance, line utilisation and focus on reducing scrap levels.
- Provide maintenance support regarding projects.
- Perform housekeeping duties in the engineering environment during any slack time.
- Will work in line with the Health and Safety requirements at all times.
- Carry out testing on fire alarm systems on a weekly basis.
- Support and maintain operations across all sites relating to breakdowns and preventive plant maintenance.
- Experience of working as a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer, a solid understanding of electrical and at least basic mechanical disciplines.
- Experience within a Manufacturing Environment is essential.
- You must have a qualification in engineering, equivalent with NVQ/ City & Guilds Level 3 or HNC/HND/ONC in either Electrical or Mechanical disciplines.
- Understanding and ability to read engineering circuit schematics/ drawings is absolutely essential.
- Experience of performing diagnostics/ fault finding and repairs to the highest standard.
- Experience of maintaining grinders, lathes, CNC machines and milling machines would be highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of welding and fabrication.
