One of our long-standing clients are looking for an experienced senior leader with a proven track record of building and developing high‑performing teams within neurological rehabilitation and complex care services. If you are an experienced senior leader with a passion for driving quality, performance and service improvement in specialist care settings, this interim position offers the opportunity to lead an established neurological rehabilitation and complex care service through a key period of development and transformation. We are seeking a dynamic and credible leader who can stabilise operational performance, strengthen clinical and regulatory standards, and deliver a defined programme of improvement projects over a 6‑month period.
About the Role
As Interim Care Centre Director, you will take full responsibility for the operational, clinical and strategic leadership of a specialist neurological and complex care service. Your focus will be on:
- Providing strong, visible leadership to clinical and non‑clinical teams
- Driving quality improvement and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Delivering a targeted portfolio of service‑development and transformation projects
- Enhancing operational performance, financial stability and workforce effectiveness
- Strengthening relationships with commissioners, local authorities and external partners
- Ensuring robust governance, documentation and processes are in place for a smooth handover at the end of the interim period
This role requires someone who can quickly assess service needs, implement change at pace, and maintain high standards of care throughout.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the senior management team, ensuring clear objectives and accountability
- Oversee service redesign, pathway development and workforce optimisation projects
- Maintain high standards of clinical quality, safety and regulatory compliance
- Ensure financial targets, KPIs and quality metrics are achieved
- Promote the service’s reputation for specialist care and operational excellence
- Act as Registered Manager in line with CQC requirements
- Prepare the service for long‑term sustainability and successful transition post‑interim
About You
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A strong track record in senior leadership within health or social care
- Experience managing neurological, complex care or rehabilitation services (desirable but not essential)
- Proven ability to lead high‑performing teams and drive service improvement
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of commissioning landscapes
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and change‑management skills
- A hands‑on, inclusive leadership style with the ability to deliver at pace
