Are you an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer looking for a stable, office‑based role where you can develop your technical expertise and contribute to the design of advanced industrial systems?
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you will work on bespoke projects, solving complex challenges and taking full ownership of the design and delivery of mechanical systems used within industrial equipment. You will work closely with the electrical, software, production and quality teams to ensure designs are safe, compliant, reliable and suitable for real‑world industrial use.
Responsibilities- Lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components from requirements capture through to production release.
- Produce accurate SolidWorks CAD models, drawings, specifications and supporting technical documentation.
- Carry out mechanical analysis, material selection, prototyping and design validation to ensure robust, fit‑for‑purpose solutions.
- Take ownership of project work packages, managing timelines, risks, progress updates and technical decisions.
- Work closely with electrical, software, production, service teams and suppliers to resolve issues and deliver practical engineering solutions.
- Previous experience working as a mechanical design engineer.
- CAD experience ideally using SolidWorks (other packages are also considered).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.
- 33 days annual leave + birthday off + additional 5 days added with length of service.
