An established Banbury-based precision sheet metal and fabrication manufacturer is looking for a CNC Punch Press Setter / Operator to join its production team. You will set and run a modern Amada CNC punch press with a linked automated load and unload system, producing high-quality bespoke components in stainless steel sheet for a varied, fast-moving order book. There is genuine scope here for both experienced punch press people and strong sheet metal operators ready to train onto the machine.

What you'll do:

  • Set and operate an Amada CNC punch press, loading programs and tooling in the right sequence for each job.
  • Carry out tool changes and routine machine maintenance to keep output and quality high.
  • Inspect and tolerance-check standard and bespoke components, in process and post process.
  • De-burr and finish punched parts to a right-first-time standard.
  • Operate and maintain the tool grinding and sharpening machine.
  • Work from manufacturing drawings and liaise with the design office for efficient, accurate output.

What you'll bring:

  • Ideally hands-on experience operating a CNC punch press, on an Amada or a comparable make such as Trumpf, LVD or Prima Power.
  • Or a strong sheet metal or fabrication background, comfortable with drawings and other CNC kit such as a laser or press brake, ready to train onto the punch press.
  • The ability to read and work confidently from manufacturing drawings.
  • Strong inspection and tolerance-checking skills, with attention to detail that holds up under deadline pressure.
  • Good numeracy and communication, equally comfortable in a team or working alone.
  • Own transport, as the site is not on a direct public transport route.

What's on offer:

  • £31,000 to £33,000 basic salary, with regular overtime taking total earnings toward £38,000.
  • Starting salary reflects your experience, with clear progression as you develop on the machine.
