Programme complex 5-axis components in HyperMill, then own the production engineering that gets them made: documentation, pricing, scheduling and ERP job packs. This is low-volume, prototype and small-batch precision work, the varied, technical end of machining, not repetitive production runs.

About the role

You will join a precision engineering and advanced manufacturing business in the Banbury area, producing complex, high-precision machined components in low volumes, including one-offs and prototypes. This is a hands-on role where one person owns both the HyperMill programming and the production engineering behind it, so the work is genuinely varied and no two jobs are quite the same.

What you will do

  • Create 5-axis CNC programs in HyperMill (Open Mind) for complex precision components, with full supporting documentation, tool lists and set-up sheets.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T.
  • Price and schedule low-volume and prototype work.
  • Complete structures and routings in the ERP system so job packs are right first time.
  • Order tooling and consumables to keep the shop floor moving.
  • Own TPM and maintenance records and coordinate machine servicing.
  • Work closely with designers, buyers and customers, supporting day-to-day machine shop operations and one-off prototype work.

What you will bring

This role needs the full combination below. Strong on programming but new to production engineering, or strong on production but from a high-volume background, will not be the fit. You will need all of it.

  • At least 3 years programming with HyperMill (Open Mind), including 5-axis.
  • Genuine production engineering experience: documentation, pricing, scheduling, tooling and ERP job packs.
  • A low-volume, prototype or small-batch machining background, not high-volume production.
  • Confidence with ERP systems and managing fast-changing data.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T and programme complex parts to a very high standard.
  • Ideally your background is in motorsport, precision engineering or advanced manufacturing.

What is on offer

£45,000 to £55,000, depending on experience. Varied, complex, hands-on work in a skilled low-volume machine shop where your programming and your production engineering both matter.
