Location: Port Talbot On-Site Freudenberg Flow Technologies Ltd.
Responsibilities
- Inspection & Test Planning (ITP): Create, maintain, and gain customer approval of project ITPs/control plans; coordinate witness/hold points.
- Quality Gate Readiness: coordinate formal sign-offs at key build stages; ensure drawings/specifications and manufacturing instructions conform to defined standards.
- Supplier Quality & Compliance: Liaise with Supplier Development to flow down QC requirements to suppliers, review their procedures, and verify conformance against project-specific QC requirements; manage corrective actions and performance metrics.
- Testing & Verification: Through creation and approval of project ITPs ensure compliance with project requirements in terms of NDT (e.g., FAT/EFAT, MPI, DPI, UT, RT, PMI, hardness, dimensional), securing complete certifications per customer and project codes.
- Customer Interface: Act as the primary quality contact for the project; coordinate approvals (e.g., ITPs for customers) and manage audits/witness activities.
- Non-conformance Management: Lead 8D/Root Cause Analysis; define containment and corrective/preventive actions; verify effectiveness and timely closure.
- Internal Audits & Continuous Improvement: Plan/execute project audits; issue reports and track actions to closure; champion lessons learned and standardization across projects.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Bridge Quality, Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain to meet project deliverables and customer milestones; support the Project Manager on quality matters.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent in Engineering/Manufacturing or a related discipline.
- Demonstrable experience as a Quality/Project Quality Engineer in Oil & Gas or heavy manufacturing, working with customer approvals and supplier quality requirements.
- Must have worked within an ISO9001:2015 certified organization; experience with regards to ISO14001:20215 and ISO45001:2018 would be an advantage.
- Practical application of quality methods and tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, Pareto, and 8D problem solving.
- Hands‑on oversight of testing programs and NDT coordination (e.g., pressure testing, MPI/DPI/UT/RT/PMI, hardness), including certification review and data pack completion.
- Strong competence in reading engineering drawings/specifications and validating manufacturing instructions against prescribed practices.
- Understanding the properties of materials, manufacturing processes and methods.
