Associate Director, Arts, Culture & Corporate Film & TV
Do you want to be in the room where it happens? Are you a media junkie who consumes culture across TV, film, museums, music and the arts? A rare opportunity has arisen for an ambitious, culturally curious Associate Director to join our Corporate Media and Arts team , working with festivals, arts institutions, philanthropists, broadcasters, producers and entertainment companies.
This role is ideal for a rounded communications professional most likely with strong media contacts and a corporate communications leaning : someone who is proactive and can build relationships quickly, run accounts confidently and bring together public relations instinct, strong media judgement, strategic counsel, creativity and a genuine passion for culture.
The successful candidate will be kind and team focussed whilst comfortable moving between high-profile cultural moments and complex corporate briefs: launching major exhibitions, supporting cultural charities, working the room at TV and film festivals, advising senior clients, handling business and trade press, and responding calmly to sensitive reputational issues.
They will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team and bring the confidence to deliver proactive communications campaigns across corporate, consumer and earned media channels, while spotting opportunities in the news agenda and helping clients tell their stories with clarity and impact.
Responsibilities
- A genuine passion for arts, culture, media and entertainment, with an understanding of the wider political, economic and cultural context in which clients operate.
- Strong relationships with national, broadcast, culture, media, podcast, business and trade journalists, as well as relevant industry contacts.
- Excellent news judgement, editorial instinct and the ability to shape stories that cut through.
- Proven experience securing impactful coverage and managing high-profile campaigns across corporate, consumer and earned media.
- Confidence providing senior strategic counsel and advising clients through reputational challenges, complex stakeholder environments and issues management situations.
- The ability to move seamlessly between strategic thinking and hands-on delivery, keeping calm under pressure and trusted with sensitive situations.
- Strong writing, messaging and editorial skills, with the ability to find the right angle for different audiences.
- Commercial awareness, strong organisation and the ability to manage multiple accounts profitably.
- A proactive, entrepreneurial approach to new business, pitches and using new technologies to elevate the work.
- A collaborative, self-aware team style, with an appetite for mentoring colleagues and helping develop talent.
- An understanding that occasional evening work as part of events briefs and participation in an on-call rota are part of the industry we operate in.
- Embrace our cornerstones of Love & Work, bringing passion, resilience, collaboration and a commitment to belonging into the way we work with clients and each other.
Differentiator
This position sits across the full reputation spectrum and unlike many other cultural roles is across the complete cultural mix from working with mass media content creators to fine art. The candidate will move swiftly from cultural publicity, storytelling and events to corporate communications, stakeholder engagement, talent handling and issues preparedness - always with an entrepreneurial spirit and sense of fun.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and understands their role within it. They will know how to handle talent of all levels as well as generate headlines and navigate them for clients. They will deputise for the Director and deliver premium counsel for clients at defining cultural and reputational moments, as well as placing key positioning pieces using their senior contacts book.
We build teams that are passionate about working on initiatives that they truly believe in. Our employees are given the opportunity to develop industry firsts whether that be in the form of a documentary, an activation or the launch of a new concept or partnership.
