Most business software is clunky, expensive to roll out, and painful to use. At Freshworks, we think that's backwards — the tools you rely on all day should be as intuitive as the apps you love in your personal life. We build powerful, sophisticated software that people actually enjoy using, and we're looking for sharp, commercially-minded people to help us prove it.
About the Team
Our Value Engineering team is growing, and we're looking for a Senior Value Engineer to join our team in London. This is a role for someone who loves building rigorous business cases, can hold their own in a room with CFOs and CIOs, and gets genuine satisfaction from turning a complex technical story into a number a customer can act on.
As a Senior Value Engineer, you'll partner directly with our sales account teams to build and defend value-based business cases across moderate to large sized deals, primarily around our ITSM, ITAM, ITOM and Freddy AI product lines. You'll act as a trusted advisor to both prospects and internal stakeholders — translating technical capability into financial outcomes that make it obvious why Freshworks is the right investment.
What You'll Do
- Lead value discovery sessions with prospects and customers, digging into their objectives and pain points to build a defensible, quantified picture of business value.
- Build detailed financial models — cost-benefit analyses, ROI calculations, competitive differentiation models — that hold up to scrutiny from finance and technical stakeholders alike.
- Craft and deliver compelling value presentations for audiences ranging from technical buyers to C-suite executives.
- Continuously sharpen our value engineering methodology, discovery frameworks, and tools to keep pace with an evolving ITSM / ITAM / ITOM / AI landscape.
- Partner closely with sales, product management, marketing, and customer success to shape value propositions tailored to different customer segments and industries.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in value engineering, management consulting, financial analysis, equity research, or a related discipline within SaaS or technology.
- Strong discovery instincts — you know how to ask the right questions, synthesize scattered data, and get to the real business driver fast.
- Confidence designing original value propositions and modelling multiple scenarios against a customer's specific goals.
- Experience with ROI/TCO modelling, value discovery frameworks, or competitive value frameworks.
- Exceptional communication skills — you can make a complex model make sense to a sceptical CFO in five minutes, and hold your ground when they push back on your assumptions.
- A natural collaborator who builds trust easily across sales, product, and customer-facing teams.
- A track record of running projects with rigor: clean deliverables, tight deadlines, and the ability to take feedback and iterate quickly.
Additional Information
- Location: London (hybrid — 3 days/week in office, Monday, Wednesday & Thursday).
- Travel: Occasional travel for on-site customer workshops and presentations.
