The Club Secretary is the chief administrative officer of the club responsible for the compliant and efficient operation of the club, providing a co-ordinating link between members of the club, the officers, committee and outside agencies.
Main duties
- To organise, summon and attend all main committee meetings and the AGM taking minutes of the proceedings.
- Ensuring the club adheres to the club law and management directives on best practice provided by the Association of Conservative Clubs.
- Maintain a record of club members.
- To ensure that the Club is registered under the provisions of the Licensing Acts.
- To comply with the requirements of the HMRC.
- Maintain effective communication with the chairman and other officers.
Desired skills
- Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication.
- Maintain confidentiality on club and member matters.
- Be computer literate understanding the use of Microsoft solutions (Word, Excel).
- Knowledge or experience of Xero will be an advantage but training can be given.
