An environmental company with complex logistical operations is looking to develop a scenario planning tool, to be able to integrate operations and identify growth opportunities. They need to build a tool which can understand specific scenarios, spanning operations, finance, strategy and sales, to measure the impact of decisions and room for growth. They know they have access to a vast quantity of operational data, and they want the ability to better utilise it.

Responsibilities

  • Map out existing logistics flows, production processes, depot utilisation, and vehicle fleet deployment at each site.
  • Identify key factors influencing the business, and model and analyse various "what-if" scenarios across network optimisation, commercial strategy, process efficiency, cost optimisation and break-even analysis.
  • Construct a dynamic scenario planning tool, quantifying the potential impact of each scenario on a financial, operational and environmental level.
  • Identify opportunities for optimisation and efficiency improvements.
  • Help understand and deliver site-based P&L documents.

Profile

  • Minimum 10 years' experience within a management consultancy
  • Strong financial modelling and analysis experience
  • Strong business acumen to provide recommendations as a sense check to current operations
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Location: Hybrid, with travel around Greater London
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Duration: 10 weeks, potential to extend
  • Day rate: £600 - £800 per day, depending on experience
