A client in the social care sector is seeking a Customer Insights Consultant to join the team for an initial contract engagement. You will support the Head of Commercial Strategy by providing hands-on commercial insight, structure, and planning to inform sales approaches and lay the groundwork for growth. The objective of the role is to improve customer understanding, strengthen product positioning, and create practical foundations for future sales and marketing activity.

Responsibilities

  • Build and consolidate insight on Local Authority customers, commissioning environments, and purchasing behaviours.
  • Analyse existing internal data to strengthen understanding of customer segments, journeys, and buying drivers.
  • Review and improve product positioning, value propositions, and commercial messaging across the portfolio.
  • Support development of clearer, more consistent sales and marketing materials and practical foundations for future campaigns.

Requirements

  • Strong background in commercial insight, customer segmentation, or commercial strategy within complex service organisations.
  • Experience working with public sector customers and/or Local Authorities, ideally within commissioned services or B2B sector.
  • Comfortable working hands-on with data, ambiguity, and evolving commercial environments.
  • Able to bring structure, clarity, and pace while working closely with senior stakeholders.
