The Role
A client in the specialist B2B media, and events industry is seeking anAI Tech Lead to join the team on an initial 18-month transformation programme.
You will be the hands-on technical lead within a small, multidisciplinary AI implementation team, responsible for identifying opportunities, building solutions and accelerating the practical adoption of AI, automation and systems integration across the organisation. Reporting into senior transformation and technology leadership, you will prototype, test and deploy scalable solutions that solve real business problems while contributing to the organisation's long-term AI and technology strategy.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and deploy AI-enabled applications, agents, automations, integrations and workflow solutions that deliver measurable business value.
- Evaluate emerging AI tools, models and platforms, running pilots and proof-of-concept projects to determine suitability, scalability and return on investment.
- Collaborate closely with technology, data and business stakeholders to translate requirements into practical technical solutions aligned with existing architecture and standards.
- Monitor performance, security, reliability and costs of AI implementations, ensuring solutions remain scalable, governed and fit for purpose.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on development experience using Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript, with the ability to take solutions from prototype through to production.
- Proven experience building AI-enabled products, workflows, automations, integrations or agent-based solutions using LLMs, APIs and modern AI tooling.
- Knowledge of REST APIs, system integrations, SQL, cloud platforms, retrieval search, RAG architectures and enterprise security best practices.
- Strong commercial and technical judgement, with the ability to assess when to build, buy, integrate or extend existing technology while communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
