A boutique management consultancy working with senior leaders with urban renewal initiatives and organisational change programs is seeking an experienced Consultant with demonstrable experience in programme governance, PMO development, and transformation design to lead a key piece of work within a high-profile regulatory preparation and housing transformation programme. You will be engaged to assist the Senior Consultant Project Leads in reviewing, redesigning, and implementing a robust governance framework that enables clarity, accountability, and transparency across multiple high-priority workstreams. Your role will be pivotal in helping set up the tools, processes, and structures needed to ensure effective oversight and alignment with strategic objectives while keeping the resident experience at the heart of decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Assist a deep-dive review into existing governance and reporting structures
- Engage senior stakeholders across departments to understand current challenges and opportunities
- Assist with designing a revised governance structure, including clearly defined roles and responsibilities and a consistent and streamlined reporting methodology
- Set up a fit-for-purpose PMO function that will support governance delivery, prioritisation, and programme tracking
Requirements:
- Management consulting experience, ideally in public sector
- Proven experience in supporting on designing and implementing governance frameworks within complex transformation programmes (ideally public sector or housing)
- Strong PMO leadership background with a strategic mindset
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement, service design, and organisational change
- Ability to rapidly assess, recommend, and implement fit-for-purpose structures and processes
- Comfortable working in high-ambiguity and high-accountability environments
Details:
- Start date: Mid-May
- Duration: Part-time for 9 weeks (with potential to ramp up to 5 days and/or extend)
- Day rate: Up to £260 PAYE depending on experience
- Location: Hybrid, 2 days per week in central London office and occasional site visits
