A client in the healthcare innovation and life sciences sector is seeking a Programme Manager to join the team for an initial 8-week engagement, with strong potential to extend. You will coordinate strategic partnership and innovation activities across academic, clinical and industry stakeholders, reporting into senior leadership and strategic advisors to ensure programmes are structured, on track and well-governed. The objective of the project is to turn emerging scientific and commercial ideas into fundable, deliverable plans that support impactful healthcare and life sciences collaborations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate programme activities across scientific, clinical and commercial workstreams
  • Maintain project plans, milestones and governance processes to ensure timely delivery
  • Translate scientific inputs into structured drafts for grant funding, proposals and partnership materials
  • Support engagement with industry by preparing background briefs, opportunity assessments and summary propositions
  • Work closely with senior leaders and advisors to prepare updates, reporting and meeting materials
  • Coordinate interactions with academic, NHS and industry stakeholders and ensure strong communication flows
  • Organise workshops, steering groups and partner sessions and ensure actions and decisions are followed through
  • Identify risks, surface blockers and drive resolution across teams
  • Support the development of new partnership opportunities and track progress from scoping through to proposal stage

Requirements

  • Strong programme or project management experience with clear evidence of driving delivery in complex environments
  • Ability to understand and interpret scientific or technical information and turn it into structured narrative for grants or industry proposals
  • Experience working with academic, clinical, research or life sciences organisations
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, governance cycles and stakeholder interactions
  • Strong written communication skills suited to drafting proposals, summaries and briefing materials
  • Good stakeholder management skills, confident engaging with researchers, clinicians and external partners
  • Analytical thinker who can turn ideas and emerging concepts into actionable plans
  • Comfortable working in a fast moving environment with diverse inputs and evolving priorities
  • Interest in healthcare, life sciences innovation or research translation
