Overview
In this role you support high-profile ESG, consumer protection and product liability litigation within Freshfields’ Dispute Resolution practice. You will work on cross-border and group litigation, developing expertise with leading barristers and experts while engaging regulators and clients. The position offers exposure to cutting-edge, international cases and a chance to shape strategy, witness statements, and settlements. You’ll contribute to business development and help build the team’s market profile in a top-tier environment.
Responsibilities
- Draft complex witness statements, expert reports and pleadings
- Lead project processes on significant cases as you develop into lead associate
- Collaborate with barristers and other experts to refine litigation strategy
- Draft client and opponent correspondence
- Oversee document reviews and disclosure projects
- Attend mediation/settlement discussions and draft agreements
- Learn governing regulatory frameworks and assist client-regulator engagement
- Contribute to business development ideas and plans
- Mentor junior associates and trainees
- Participate in seminars and client-facing training
- Build profile with partners and clients and contribute to external-facing content
Key requirements
- Qualified lawyer in England & Wales or a common law jurisdiction
- 2–4 PQE (ideally)
- Strong technical and commercial abilities
