Role overview: Given our exciting and progressive growth plans, we are looking for an exceptional Analytics Engineer to come and join our global business. Reporting to the VP Analytics, and working collaboratively with Product Managers, Engineers, Analysts and Commercial Leadership, you will be accountable for modelling data to provide clean, accurate data to power both decision-making and the product itself. This involves transforming, testing, and validating data. What you will be doing:
- Develop, test, and maintain robust dimensional data models from diverse data sources, including first-party CDC data, data from third-party APIs, SFTPs, and other external data sources.
- Enhance the efficiency and performance of data models, focusing on improving ease of use, increasing accessibility of data, reducing runtimes, and eliminating waste.
- Build and maintain the highest quality of our data products, both internal and externally-facing.
- Advise product development on analytical requirements with new feature releases, and ensure data warehouse incorporates development changes from new feature releases effectively.
- Use your knowledge of Fresha's product and data models to analyse the performance of features and support product operations - through analytical queries and dashboards.
- Help our commercial and finance teams get accurate, easy-to-use data they need to understand the business by ensuring our data warehouse is in line with our reporting needs.
- Develop comprehensive data documentation to maintain consistency in understanding and communication across the team and help effective use of AI tooling.
Skills, experience & qualifications required:
- Expert knowledge of SQL.
- Experience with building and testing high-quality data modelling pipelines.
- An understanding of data platform and data warehousing concepts.
- Familiarity with modern data stack components - dbt is a must, and at least one cloud warehouse.
- Experience in using AI development tools to produce solid code and analytics as part of dev workflows.
- An interest in improving the performance and efficiency of data models and systems, with support and guidance from senior team members.
- A desire to contribute to product development decisions through data architecture best practices and analytical insights.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and autonomous approach to work.
Bonus points:
- Experience in driving product decisions and taking ownership of features.
- Familiarity with the following systems: Fivetran, Airflow, Snowflake, Plotly, Starrocks, Metabase.
- Experience in writing ELT pipelines with SQL and Python.
- Use of Claude Code, including MCPs for data reading and skills for common workflows.
- Experience working in fast-paced companies.
