Overview
We are supporting a local manufacturing facility with the recruitment of an SHE officer. You will be responsible for ensuring that the company is conducting its business in full compliance with national and international law and regulations that pertain to the business needs. In addition, the role is to support other departments with the collection of appropriate compliance data.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and improve the SHE management system in compliance with environmental legislation, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Glenair Safety codes of practice and other compliance requirements.
- Monitor SHE/Compliance & Risk strategies, policies and programmes that promote sustainable development.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies/internal/external business customers and ensure all key performance measures and objectives are achieved in regard to SHE/Compliance and Risk.
- Lead and support all aspects of the business in its adoption and conformance to all SHE legislation and policies/statements and procedures.
- Ensure the management team are kept up to date on emerging compliance requirements.
- Coordinate SHE systems for control of pollution, waste management, recycling, conservation and energy efficiency.
- Monitor the effectiveness of SHE/Compliance Operational risks recommending changes where appropriate and ensure that practices which are potentially hazardous are brought to the attention of management.
- Advise Management on all legal and other requirements relating to SHE/Compliance legislation in the workplace.
- Monitor the investigation of accidents and review accidents and statistics pertaining to such with the management so that corrective action may be applied and assessed for health, safety and the environment.
- Produce educational resources and coordinate SHE/Compliance training.
