We are looking for a hard-working buyer who is seeking their next career move. This is working for a successful and established manufacturing company in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. If you thrive working in a fast-paced environment and have a background in manufacturing, then please read on to hear more about the duties you would be taking on. CIPS sponsorship is available for the right candidate.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the engineering and production team to ensure that material and parts are always sourced in line with specifications and stock levels are always maintained to ensure service levels are met.
- Ensure continuity of supply by maintaining effective relationships with existing sources and by developing other cost-effective sources of supply.
- Cost reduction measurements across the business.
- Procuring from sources around the world to ensure the best price and quality is purchased.
- Negotiating costs and SLAs in line with business requirements and viewing pricing agreements annually.
- Processing and monitoring supplier rejects.
- Rationalise suppliers, building a manageable vendor portfolio.
- Introducing robust processes to ensure they are maximising cost saving opportunities.
The ideal candidate would have:
- Experience within a procurement/buying/purchasing role is essential ideally gained within an engineering or manufacturing.
- Strong negotiating skills.
- CIPS qualified would be helpful.
- The ability to build a rapport with suppliers and maintain a strong relationship.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to influence and drive best practice.
