We are currently recruiting for a Distribution Centre Team Leader due to internal promotion, working for a global distribution facility based near South Normanton, Derbyshire. Our client is looking for someone who has worked in warehouse or distribution previously either as a team leader or supervisor looking for that next step in their career. You will be responsible for daily supervision of a team of distribution associates.

Duties of Distribution Centre Team Leader:

  • Responsible for all inventory ensuring it is put away in a timely manner and accurately, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Training team members to ensure that all department members fully understand and consistently execute all job duties.
  • Providing direction, assigning responsibilities and motivating team members to achieve department goals.
  • Managing individual team members' performance goals and targets in line with the company's expectations.
  • Conducting performance review process.
  • Communicate in the distribution centre, network, and corporate information during daily start-up meetings to employees as appropriate.
  • Ensuring team members' training is up to date and only trained people carry out licensed work (e.g. manual handling, MHE driving, dangerous goods shipping).
  • Assisting the DC Supervisor in their responsibility for planning, documenting, and carrying out all internal training within the DC.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team within the DC and wider business to achieve business goals.

Personal qualities and experience required for Distribution Centre Team Leader:

  • Must have worked in warehouse or distribution within a supervisory capacity.
  • Strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach who leads by example.
  • Good computer skills.
