Make sure you brush up on your knowledge of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Familiarise yourself with common challenges these young people face and think about how you can address them in your role. This will show the interviewers that you're not just passionate but also well-informed.

Showcase Your Personal Approach

Expect questions that ask how you would handle specific situations, like engaging a student who is reluctant to participate. Practise your responses to these scenario-based questions, focusing on your problem-solving skills and ability to adapt your methods to suit different learners.

Ask Thoughtful Questions

At the end of the interview, don’t forget to ask insightful questions about the role and the team. This could include inquiries about the types of resources available or how the team collaborates to support students. It shows your genuine interest in the position and helps you gauge if it’s the right fit for you.
